Although a symmetrical V-type line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor(LSPMSM)has a better starting performance and low power consumption,the corresponding cogging effect is obvious. To reduce the cogging torque,the analytical formula for cogging torque was derived based on the energy method at first,and the optimal combination of permanent magnet width,pole arc coefficient,stator slot width,rotor axial length,and rotor tooth width was determined. Then,a novel optimization method for cogging torque based on the combination of parameter stratification and response surface method was proposed,and the optimal solution to the response surface model was found by using the max-min ant system algorithm. Finally,simulation experiments were conducted using the finite element method,and the optimization results were analyzed and compared. Results show that by using the motor with optimal parameters,the cogging torque was reduced by 73.9%,the torque ripple was reduced by 10.1%,the amplitude of air-gap magnetic-density fundamental wave was improved by 0.03 T,and the motor efficiency was improved by 1.5%. Reset
