Synthesis of waterborne polyurethane adhesive for shoes with high solid content

Waterborne polyurethane adhesive for shoes with high solid content(above 50%),without organic solvent and good storage stability was synthesized by using HDI,IPDI,and poly(butylene glycol adipate) as basic raw materials and sodium diaminobenyene sulfonate(SDBS) and dimethylolpropionic acid as inner emulsifier.Infrared spectroscopy analysis confirmed the containing of sulfonic acid groups in polyurethane chain.The effects of the amounts of SDBS and acetone on the properties of the adhesive were investigated,the experimental result showed that the properties of the adhesive reach or exceed U-54’s.
