Analysis on Common Defects of High-carbon Steel Rod

Many common defects in high-carbon steel rod,such as shrink hole,blocky and netty carbide,white band,non-metallic,inclusion,martensite etc.,are studied by means of macroscopic observation,metallographic analysis,hardness test and SEM observation.Various causes of rod fracture during drawing were explored.The corresponding countermeasures are also proposed in this article.
