The precision of initial rotor position detection is critical for the starting performance of motors.This paper presents the initial rotor position detection of 12/10 flux-switching permanent magnet(FSPM) motors with high-frequency signal injection on the basis of salient pole verification.Through the analysis of traditional pulsating sinusoidal signal injection methods,high-frequency square wave and triangle wave signal based injection methods had been researched.Then the position error signals were obtained using current difference modulation or direct signal modulation methods,the pole polarity of the motor was determined simultaneously by accumulating the time difference of zero-crossing points of the d-axis current based on the magnetic circuit saturation effects.Besides,the relation between the coefficient of position error signal and the convergence of position estimation was also analyzed.Eventually,experiments verified the validity and feasibility of proposed methods on a 12/10 FSPM machine
