A new solid super-acid(SM) was synthesized, and was used as catalyst to synthesize dioctyl terephthalate(DOTP) from waste terylene(PET) and 2-ethyl hexanol(2-EH). The Results showed that the optimum reaction conditions were as follows: molar ratio of PET to 2-EH 1:3. 8, mass ratio of catalyst to PET 1: 8. 4, reaction temperature 210-220℃, reaction time 3h, yield of DOTP 97. 2 %. The catalyst SM could replace other catalysts such as Zinc acetate, tetrabutyl titanate etc. for synthesis of DOTP.
