A Decomposition Theory For Rings Of Operators

The object of this dissertation is to develop a decomposition theory for a particular kind of ring of operators on a Hilbert ,space, and to investigate the relation­ ships between the ring, the Hilbert space, and the decomposition. This study has grown out of several previous. theories of the same kind which were developed to treat the same problem. However, ithe development which is given here overcomes some of the main disadvantages of these previous theories, while preserving most of their important features.
