Generation of Surface Topography on a Ground Surface

This paper analyses the types and the formation of surface topography generated on the workpiece periphery due to a conventional plunge grinding operation. The parts of the work covered in this paper are concerned with analysing the sources responsible for the formation of surface roughness and waviness. The paper has been written as a general guide and contains practical examples.
