Application of air bags for ship launch is high and new technology with independent intellectual property rights. Based on the air bag compressure test and launching the process measurement for full-scale ships, a series of technical problems has been explored and developed, including the requirements of structure and performance parameters of air bag for large ship launching, parameters of launch ramp, calculation of traction and launching calculation, etc. It sums up a complete set of calculation methods. The research results have fully certificated in practice of launching ships from 70 000 dwt to 82 000 dwt, which the gives the technical and theoretical support for launching large ships by utilizing air bags.
